Biomechanical Evaluation:

A biomechanical evaluation consists of the analysis of the footprint and the gait to determine the joint, muscular and ligamentous state of the lower limbs and how they interact in relation to other parts of the body, thus being able to know if there is or could be in the future any pathology and what type of treatment is the most appropriate.

Biomechanical exploration in Santa Pola

La Biomechanical evaluation consists of several steps:

  1. Anamnesis: It is the talk with our patients before the study with which it is intended to know the cause of the visit, the origin of the ailment and the need of each one.
  2. Exploration on the stretcher: The state of the joints and range of motion in the ankle, knee and hip are assessed. The limitations in these areas guide us towards the reason for the pathology.
  3. Exploration in charge: Standing we can better understand how the muscle groups of the lower limbs are activated and the elasticity we have to move them.
  4. Study of the footprint on our pressure platform: In it we see the points of maximum pressure/support on the feet and the position of the center of gravity of our body, which must be centered.
  5. Dynamic analysis: It is observed how the foot, ankle, knee and hips move during walking, which allows us to analyze the compensations that are created by having certain pathologies and the pathologies that are created by compensating for certain biomechanical deficiencies.

The correct study of the footprint we prevent osteoarticular, muscular and ligamentous injuries such as sprains, fasciitis, muscular overloads, pain in the front of the foot, low back pain, tendonitis or knee pain because poor foot support can lead to higher areas. We also observe possible asymmetry, which is the difference in length between one leg and another.
