As a clinic agreed with the best hospitals in the province of Alicante, in case of requiring a surgical intervention, it will be carried out in any of the private hospitals in the area, as well as, if necessary, the hospitalization itself.

ORAL SURGERY

On many occasions, the included wisdom teeth, third molars or wisdom teeth require extraction for different reasons: lack of space in orthodontic treatments, malpositions or complications derived from their eruption.

The simple physical examination in the hands of a professional together with the pertinent x-rays usually lead to the correct diagnosis to proceed. They can be extracted under local anesthesia or conscious sedation intravenously depending on the patient and each specific case.

ORTHOGNATHIC SURGERY

Orthognathic surgery is plastic surgery of the facial skeleton. This type of surgery is necessary in those people whose bite is not adequate due to a disharmonic growth of their maxilla and/or mandible.

At Clínica del Río-Hortega we have surgical solutions that will improve, on the one hand, the functional occlusion of the patient and, on the other, facial aesthetics by repositioning the facial skeleton.

TREATMENTS OF DYSFUNCTIONS AND MINOR SURGERY

At our Clinic in Santa Pola we carry out the study, the assessment and we take care of the treatment of dysfunction in the temporomandibular joint and specific cases such as bruxism.

The temporomandibular joint located in front of the ear is responsible for moving the jaw. Parafunctions such as bruxism associated with predispositions can favor the appearance of very annoying pain at that level. The role of the surgeon here is to assess the pathology and its multidisciplinary treatment (dentistry, physiotherapy, infiltrations...).
