A positive PCR sample indicates that the patient is currently infected with the virus and is susceptible to infecting others. Including those who are asymptomatic, who, although they have not developed symptoms, are also infected and can infect others, although it is known that the capacity to infect is lower.

Those known as "false negatives" in the results of PCR tests are due, in the vast majority of cases, to the sample being taken incorrectly or to the fact that it was carried out at a time that was not appropriate. , that is, too soon or too late.
