Avoid dehydration in the skin

Today we will help you avoid dehydration in the skin. As you well know and we treat in consultation, winter is one of our "enemies" as far as our skin is concerned. This season of the year causes, among other things, dehydration of the skin, irritations, flaking and lack of shine and vitality.

As a result of your concern, we are going to give you a series of tips to avoid dehydration in the skin and keep our skin in the best condition and with the least amount of suffering:

  1. EXFOLIATION: 1 or 2 times a week we must exfoliate our skin to remove dead cells. With this process, in addition to the fact that the skin will perspire much better and be softer, it will absorb the active principle of the cosmetics that we use, tolerating them better.
  2. DAILY FACE MAKEUP REMOVER: The step of removing make-up is basic for the care of our skin. You have to make it a daily routine, using the best cosmetics for it, thus managing to maintain the protective mantle of the skin in the face of winter.
  3. HYDRATION: The fact of moisturizing the skin is a step that, despite being very important, is often neglected and forgotten. You have to think that a moisturizer acts as a shield against day-to-day aggressions. The skins that suffer the most are dry and sensitive.
  4. SAY “NO” TO VERY HOT WATER: In winter, we often shower with very hot water (excessively), this seems very comfortable, but the reality is that it is very aggressive for the skin's surface. Eliminates the hydrolipidic layer of our skin (our protective layer that serves to maintain its hydration).
  5. USE SUN PROTECTION THROUGHOUT THE YEAR: If you were one of those who thought that sunscreens were just a summer thing, you are wrong. Solar radiation causes damage that cannot be seen with the naked eye but is there. They will come out as time goes by, being irreparable in many cases. Even if it is winter and cloudy, it is important to use them daily.
  6. THE LITTLE FORGOTTEN: The hands, feet and lips are usually the areas of the body that we forget the most, but no less important. Moisturizing them with suitable cosmetics for each area will make our day to day easier. The lips are one of the thinnest and most sensitive parts of the body, in that area you have to use repairing products and not moisten them with saliva, as this will cause more irritation. For hands and feet, very fatty creams with a high urea content should be used. We will avoid unpleasant and painful cracks.
  7. FEEDING: Dehydration not only has to be treated from the outside, but also from the inside. Drinking enough water and consuming seasonal fruits and vegetables will keep us hydrated from the inside and consequently healthier.

Say "NO" to the cold by treating our most precious organ.
