COVID-19 DETECTION

At Clínica del Río-Hortega, we provide COVID-19 screening using the Antigen Test for the detection of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus for €29.

At our Santa Pola Clinic, we have the necessary resources to guarantee results within minutes of the test, and the corresponding Certificate and Official Report will be delivered within an hour.

The great advantage of the Antigen Test is the turnaround time (minutes) and the high sensitivity in the first days of infection. Sensitivity in the first days of infection (0-3 days) is 100%, and in the 4-7 days, it is 90%. This allows for urgent diagnosis of symptomatic patients and their contacts.

The Antigen Test is especially indicated for travel and/or attendance at social events.

At Clínica del Río-Hortega, we will perform the sample collection. This consists of a nasopharyngeal swab performed by qualified healthcare personnel, where a swab is inserted through the nostrils and/or mouth. The process may be slightly uncomfortable, but it is not painful and takes no more than 30 seconds.

Once we receive the sample and verify that it’s suitable for analysis, a device will analyze it in about 15 minutes and provide a result.

The Antigen Test is a very useful test, especially for detecting positive cases. However, if there are any doubts after this test, a PCR test is recommended for reliable verification.

· If I have symptoms consistent with COVID-19: fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste and smell, pain when swallowing, diarrhea, muscle aches, etc.

· If I have been at risk of infection after having been in close contact with a positive person.

· If I am within the first five days after contracting the disease, since the antigen test is a very effective tool within the first five days.

· If I have to travel or attend social events.
